As Vodafone’s special mobile Global Plan offer of earning double Qantas points runs out on January 31st 2018, The Departure Lounge digs up some simple ideas for loading up on those frequent flyers.

VODAFONE’S red hot Red Global Plans to double up on Qantas frequent flyer points is counting down to deadline at the end of January 2018 which prompted the TDL team to do a little research and find some simple but great ideas to boost those points.

Vodafone’s offer is a beauty in that you can earn double Qantas Points when you sign up online to a Red Global Plan with a phone or 12 month SIM Only Global plan. That’s up to 30,000 Qantas Points! (T&Cs apply).

If you’re not already a member, you’ll also receive free Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, saving $89.90. Check out the support article here

We also checked in with the experts over at Qantas Insider who have some great suggestions for stacking up the points. Here are just some of those ideas:

Turn wine into points

Qantas epiQure has a great selection of wines and champagnes available to buy online. Members earn three Qantas Points for each dollar spent and have their order delivered to their front door. In addition, each week there are bonus Qantas Points to be earned with selected products – particularly handy coming into the festive season when many a cork will be popped.

Grab an Uber from the airport

Qantas Frequent Flyers can earn points by requesting an Uber using the Qantas app for trips to or from eligible Australian airports. Frequent Flyers will earn one, two or three points per dollar spent depending on their status. Plus, members who link their Uber and Frequent Flyer accounts through the Qantas app earn an additional 2000 Qantas Points on their first Uber ride anywhere in the country.

Walk (or run!)

Qantas Frequent Flyer members have the chance to earn Qantas Points by simply putting one foot in front of the other. To celebrate the Qantas Frequent Flyer program turning 30, Qantas is giving away 30 million Qantas Points throughout the month of October 2017. Download the Qantas Assure app and join the Qantas Points giveaway challenge. That’s the hard bit. All you have to do next is beat the Australian national average of 7400 steps per day: each day you reach 8000 steps, you’ll score 30 points and be entered into a draw to win one of 30 Qantas flight vouchers.

Turn wine into points

Forget running down to the bottle shop for an average chardonnay – Qantas epiQure has an excellent selection of wines and Champagnes to purchase online. Members earn three Qantas Points for each dollar spent and have their order delivered to their front door. In addition, each week there are bonus Qantas Points to be earned with selected products – particularly handy coming into the festive season when many a cork will be popped.
