Air Canada will launch its third Australian port with a non-stop seasonal service four times a week from Melbourne to Vancouver in December.

The services will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from December 3 (2017) through to February 4 (2018) in addition to Air Canada’s ongoing daily flights to Vancouver from Brisbane and Sydney.

The new services to Melbourne would help the carrier capitalise on peak demand over the Christmas period, according to Paul McLean, Air Canada’s General Manager Australia/NZ.

“By operating the only non-stop service between Melbourne and Canada we are making it easier than ever before for Victorians to experience Canada’s unsurpassed winter attractions, which include some of the world’s leading ski resorts in British Columbia and Alberta,” McLean said in Travel Daily.

The addition of Melbourne in less than 12 months since Air Canada’s Brisbane-Vancouver route launched was a “major vote of confidence in the Australian market,” according to McLean, with the travel trade a key factor in the carrier’s ongoing success Down Under.
